3 days route tour Marrakech Merzouga Desert
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Early departure from Marrakech towards the High Atlas Mountains. We will cross the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass in Morocco (at about 2,260 meters above sea level), with stops to enjoy spectacular panoramic views, we will visit the Argan Oil cooperative, where we will discover the production process and we will be explained the countless benefits it has for the human body, we will continue south and then we will detour along a 6 km track that will take us to the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou where we will visit its famous Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO).
In this spectacular setting, such renowned films as Gladiator, the Jewel of the Nile, Sahara and the television series Game of Thrones have been filmed. Lunch in the village and we will continue the journey to Ouarzazate, considered the great gateway to the desert, the place from where the great expeditions depart and where the great Kasbah of Taourirt stands out.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Desert-Erg Chebbi)
After breakfast we will leave for the desert of Merzouga, and we will take a path to observe the gorges from a strategic place in the mountain and then we will continue on a road dotted with beautiful Kasbahs totally different from each other. After several stops, we will reach one of the strong points of the south: the Todra Gorges (300m). The Todra River has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty, it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. Lunch on site and continue towards the desert until reaching the impressive dunes of Merzouga where we will have a hospitality tea while we rest a little.
We will leave our bags at the hostel and set off in a caravan of dromedaries that, in an hour, will take us to the tent camp. We will stop halfway along the way to watch the sunset on the dunes and stretch our legs before continuing the path to the camp. Before dinner we will have the opportunity to climb the dunes near the camp and have a cup of tea while enjoying the peace and silence that is breathed there. We will spend the night in a tent, under the stars (unforgettable night).
Day 3: Merzouga (Desert) – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech end of your 3 days route tour Marrakech Merzouga Desert
We will leave before dawn to watch the sunrise on the Great Dune. Return by dromedary to the hostel. Shower, breakfast and we will begin the journey, passing through Rissani, one of the oldest cities in Morocco and capital of the Alaouit dynasty, and crossing the arid and at the same time interesting pre-desert landscapes until reaching the Draa Valley where we will make several stops to enjoy this beautiful valley that runs alongside the river that bears the same name. It is the longest river in Morocco and crosses the entire country to Mauritania. We will cross the Anti Atlas to reach Ouarzazate, lunch on site. In the afternoon we will cross the High Atlas and arrive in Marrakech.
